If you hadn't heard ICE raided 32 mod chip dealers around the country recently. I'd write my own angry rant about this, but this guy has already written an incredibly eloquent one himself. I'll just say that our country was founded on the principle of ownership. When I buy anything it is mine. I can do whatever I want with it. If I buy a banana I can eat it, throw it away, cut into pieces, throw it all over my walls, whatever the hell I want. If I buy a book, I can read as many times as I want, I can rip it's pages out, I can write my own words inside of it, whatever the hell I want. If I buy underwear I can wear it to cover my privates, use it as a hat, turn into a slingshot, use it as a notepad, whatever the fucking hell I want. It is a travesty that a country founded upon freedom, is making criminals out of anyone simply exercising the liberties guarantied to us by our founding fathers. I don't care who the fuck makes what product, when I buy it, I own it! I might not be able to make and sell exact copies of it, but I can do what I want with the copy I own. We are coming quickly to a time where ownership is completely abolished, and the only people who own things will be the government and giant companies. That is a fiefdom, and we left that flawed and atrocious form of civilization centuries ago.

"Earlier this month, gamer named Mitchell S. with the online screenname "Kuja105" who posts on a few online videogame forums (including GameFaqs.com and MetalGearSolid.org) committed suicide. On January 2 he posted a message in both forums detailing his intent to end his own life, citing overwhelming complications with school and finances.

A very brief period of initial disbelief was followed by a barrage of replies from fellow forum members pleading that he not take his life, trying to talk him out of it.

For days, no word was heard from Mitchell. Fearing the worst, members and administration from metalgearsolid.org began searching for contact information, spending hours on the phone trying to get in touch with him. Finally on January 4, Ryan K., an administrator at metalgearsolid.org, got him on the phone and spent hours desperately trying to talk him out of it.

Sadly, Mitchell soon ended his own life by consuming antifreeze and painkillers.

Later, members from the site contacted Mitchell's family to find out the grave news. They reported it to their online community, and posted a tribute to their passed friend on the front page of metalgearsolid.org." Full Report Here.

"Your "gamer friend" will find peace through the Lord, Jesus Christ, but sadly it's too late for that.

There is a void in every heart. You can fill it up with the things of God, or the things not of God. This unfortunate soul chose to fill it up with combat games. The playing of these video games is masturbatory activity, meaning senseless self-stimulation. If you gamers could use a dictionary you would know that that term is not necessarily a sexual one.

The real tragedy here extends beyond the life and death of this one fellow. There are literally millions of young people and young adults whose despair is deepend by turning to the things of this world and then finding them meaningless.

All of you gamers need to put down the controllers and get a life. The utter inanity of the vast majority of postings here shows how vapid "gaming" really is.

You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Do you feel any remorse for having contributed to this "culture of death?" Of course not. Hey, let's all play MORE games, and ignore all the really productive things to do with our lives.

Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess.

NASCAR (Mike Helton and Brian france particularly) need to go fuck themselves. Or each other. Seriously.
Firstly, maybe Earnhardt always went to the damn awards banquet because you two weren't fucking the entire sport in the ass. And maybe another reason is because only one season out of 25 was he not in the top 10, and therefore had a reason to go, fucking moron. The only season Dale Earnhardt was not in the top 10 in points was 1992; he finished 12th in points. I guess back then NASCAR was actually worthy of some respect.
Secondly, how in the hell is this new tv deal "a major accomplishment for the NASCAR drivers, teams and track operators that have made this sport what it is today"? This is almost EXACTLY the way it was before 2001 when they decided to fuck ESPN, CBS, and ABC and sign exclusive contracts with NBC and FOX!!!!!! The only difference is they still don't have racing on CBS. In 2001 they wouldn't even let the Sportscenter guys talk about NASCAR. ESPN was completed barred from any mention of the sport, and could not show any race clips. Later on, they decided to let ESPN talk about NASCAR, but still wouldn't let them take cameras to the races, or do any interviews with drivers. NASCAR can act like this is an amazing new accomplishment, but it just means they want more money. And the only people who are going to fall for it, are the damn new yankee fans that NASCAR has decided to coddle. Fine, ignore your fanbase and try to get new fans from up north, but to them it's just a passing fad. Which is great, 'cause when it all comes tumbling down, I'm gonna be there laughing my ass off and telling "I told ya so!".
EDIT: And now the all star race is gonna be on SPEED!? Damn it! SPEED is a fucking premium cable channel! Fine, fuck'em all.

Okay, go read this article right quick. Okay, so first of all, how in the hell is the ESRB responsible for the rise in violence and sexual content in games? I mean, it ain't the ESRB that's making them. And their rating system kicks the MPAA's rating systems ass. Seriously. It wasn't untill after the ESRB came out that the movie guys descided to tell you what the rating was for, and even now they don't do it all the time. But if you look at any game box you have two big rating labels front and back. With a list of everything that caused the game to recieve the rating it did. But the thing that bothers me the most? Look at these guys' acronym. NIMF? Sound familliar? Hehehehe.

Here's a good article. I love how even though these game laws are always overturned as being unconstitutional, they just keep making them up. This judge also makes an excellent point you don't hear very often, "Because of this one scene, a game such as God of War, which essentially parallels a classic book like The Odyssey, likely would be prohibited for minors under the SEVGL, because the statute allows a game to be regulated based on one scene without regard to the value of the game as a whole. Such a sweeping regulation on speech--even sexually explicit speech--is unconstitutional even if aimed at protecting minors." God of War was a great game. And with exception of that one scene, I don't see any reason my 10 year old brother shouldn't be allowed to play the game. Which is exactly the point. If parents don't want their kids playing the damn games, #1 don't buy the games for your stupid kids, and #2 watch what the hell your kids are playing. If parents played games with their kids, it would be incredibly easy to find out whether they approve of the game's content. When did it suddenly become the government's job to controll every aspect of our lives? Why all of sudden do poloticians like Hilary Clinton think that parents can't make descisions themselves on what's best for their children? And why in the hell do parents think that because they're self-centered, lazy, good for nothing ass-fucks, they have the right to tell everyone else what's approriate for them to play, read, or watch? People need to go fuck themselves and realize that the only person responsible for them is themselves, and as parents they are the only ones responsible for what their children hear, see, and do. My right as an adult to go to Wal-Mart and buy Doom 3 or God of War unhindered, and without hassle is more important than giving parents another excuse to turn a blind eye to their childs wellfare.

Well, they've gone and done it now. Here, go read this. Wonderfull stuff huh? Ever seen the pictures of hot coffee? Here. I've seen worse in r-rated movies. Which any kid can go buy at wal-mart any time they want, and the bitch doesn't bat an eye. And tell me, how is making new laws going to solve the problem of children playing games designed to be played by adults? Regardless of what bulshit the Annual MediaWise Video and Computer Game Report Card is touting, children aren't the ones buying the fucking games in the first place. Parents buy the games for their damn kids. And any law they pass will not stop parents from buying m-rated games for their kids. Laws like this will probably cause most retailers like wal-mart to stop carrying m-rated games, maybe even t-rated ones just to be safe. Gamers need to start an NRA type assosiation, to help fight this kind of shit. We outnumber the morons now. It's not like gamers are a minority in this country. Anyway, I can't really think of anything else to say, I just got out of psychology class and my brain is slightly charred.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I moved to Arizona about a month ago, and I still haven't got the internet installed yet. My school has a filter turned on that took me a while to get around. :) But now I have and I should be posting more often. School is great. Psychology sucks massive ammounts of monkey ass, but my Game Development class is so wonderfully perfect, it fills my dreams at night. Anyway, I have to finnish my analyisis of the game I played for 4 hours the other day, Alpha Centauri, a great game you should check out. I'm sure you could find in the bragain bin somewhere.

ZDNet has an article out today about possible governmental interventions into the internet. While some people might not see this as a bad thing, the government being invovled in ANYTHING with the internet could have terrible repercussions. Even if it is years down the road, this could eventually lead censorship, new laws governing individuals rights to use the interent, what can and can't be posted onto a web page, and who knows what else. The internet is one of our last vestiges of freedom, and we must fight hard to keep the gorvernment from interfering.

Well, yesterday was eventfull. First off, while my wife and I were at the mall we decided that I should get my ear pierced. So we did. It went very smoothly and now ther is 14 karat white gold stud in my left ear. Yay. I like it a lot, and I'm very happy I got it done. Now I just gotta go get that tattoo I've always wanted.

Last night we also went and saw Michael O'Nea l and his band. Those guys are awesome. If you guys live around Dallas or Paris Texas, you should go see them. They're ver nice people, and they're good friends of ours. I wish had some pictures to post, but my camera was out of wack last night :(
